
Tourism NSW works successfully with a range of government and industry bodies to develop and promote tourism throughout the state.
Actively engaging tourism industry partners and other partners to work together in the State’s marketing programs yields greater results than if these initiatives were implemented independently. These include:
Tourism NSW is also focusing on developing partnerships with businesses outside the traditional tourism sector, which have the potential to benefit substantially from increased visitation to this State.
Regional Tourism Organisations (RTOs)
Tourism NSW works in partnership with individual Regional Tourism Organisations on a range of marketing and development initiatives.
Forum of Regional Tourism Organisations (FORTO)
FORTO is the industry body representing the 13 Regional Tourism Organisations in NSW. FORTO was established by the RTOs to guide and facilitate capacity building and to coordinate regional tourism development and RTO marketing activities.
Regional Tourism Partnership Program
The Regional Tourism Partnership Program has been developed by Tourism NSW and FORTO as part of the NSW Tourism Strategy. The program includes funding allocation to Regional Tourism Organisations for capacity and demand building.
